How many cubic meters of coolant（ emulsion） is needed for a welded tube mill?

One welded tube mill typically needs 30 cubic meters emulsion ,which can lubricate the roller of tube mill and the saw blade of cold cutting saw or friction cutting saw .

The cooling pool is composed by 3 cooling pools.The three cooling water tanks are interconnected and can serve as sedimentation systems.

1)What the function of the emulsion ?

Lubrication and Friction Reduction

A lubricating film is formed between the rolls and the steel tube, which reduces direct metal-to-metal friction, lowers the rolling force, prevents excessive wear and overheating of the equipment, and helps improve the surface finish of the finished tube products.

Cooling and Temperature Control

During the forming process, significant amounts of deformation heat and frictional heat are generated. The emulsion rapidly carries away this heat, effectively controlling the temperature in the rolling zone and preventing the steel tube and rolls from being damaged or losing dimensional accuracy due to overheating.

Cleaning and Debris Removal

Leveraging its good fluidity, the emulsion flushes away metallic chips, fine particles, and other impurities generated during rolling, preventing these contaminants from scratching the tube surface or interfering with subsequent processing steps.

If the steel tube factory manufacture the galvanized steel tube , it is necessary to use the emulsion to cool the tube , If the steel tube factory  does not manufacture the galvanized steel tube , the factory can use the Sodium nitrite to replace the emulsion. So that the production cost is saved .

4.What kind pump should be used for the water cooling system of tube mill?

Both submersible pumps and centrifugal pumps can be used , however ,considering maintenance, the centrifugal pump is more popular .
